“Working my whole career in the container industry, my background is in the specialised container haulage, container supply and international shipping sectors.”
I love this industry mainly because of the wide variety of people and projects you come into contact with, but its also immensely satisfying when you can genuinely help someone out who doesn’t know about the industry or how to move their container around.
We set up budget shipping containers as we thought there was an area the whole industry was failing with – helping customers who are new to shipping containers understand what they are getting, so we certainly hope our website and team help customers understand the product they want to buy in advance of the purchase.
Outside of work I follow F1 motor racing, I like to cycle and keep fit and I enjoy following the local Ice Hockey team ‘Solihull Barrons’.”

“Working for 7 years in the Materials Handling sector I took a step from Forklifts into Shipping Containers in July 2014 and I’ve been with Budget Shipping Containers ever since! The types of people you interact with and the different projects you get involved with is so diverse. Having previously worked as a Forklift Operations Controller I controlled a team of engineers who serviced and maintained forklift trucks all over the UK. So I’ve been in operations and logistics for years now. This was based in Hinckley, just outside Leicester, where I live.
I’m an avid supporter of 2015-16 Premier League Champions, Leicester City and a car enthusiast with a classic mini.”
David Williamson- Sales and Operations Executive
“Prior to working with Budget Shipping Containers, I worked for one of the largest DVD manufacturers in the world which included a 5-year stint working for them in Texas (I have the boots to prove it!). Following this I worked for one of the UK’s largest warehousing and fulfillment providers. My ethos is to provide customers with guidance and advice so that can fulfill the customers wants and needs.
In my spare time I enjoy nothing more than spending quality time with my family visiting interesting and historic places around the UK. I am also a very keen motor racing fan and a former member of the BRDC at Silverstone.”
Sam Cannon- Marketing and Operations Executive
“Since graduating from University in 2015 with a degree in Business and Marketing, I have gained experience within the marketing and recruitment sectors. I joined Budget Shipping Containers in November 2016 as a temp and they couldn’t get rid of me! My main duties as the Marketing and Operations executive are: Updating the website with relevant marketing content and products, Managing and advertising on social media on behalf of Budget and helping out the sales team with all enquiries. In my spare time you will find me at the Etihad stadium watching Manchester City or frequenting the local establishments of the West Midlands.”
Sally Sparrow- Accounts and Sales Executive
“Joining the team in 2014 I’ve enjoyed working at Budget Shipping Containers initially as the bookkeeper, but the position has developed into an versatile accounts and sales role. Having previously mixed my part time book keeping work with freelance rider/groom work I enjoy being more office based and helping customers get exactly what they want for the best price alongside my other roles.
Outside of work I enjoy horse-riding, cycling and good food.”

I love that every potential customer has different requirements. Taking a little time to fully understand what people need really pays off when we are able to exceed expectations.
I have two young children, two cats, an Xbox and no fish. In my spare time I like cooking, hill walking and spending lazy afternoons in a beer garden!”
Jessie – Head of Security
We did ask Jessie for a comment for this section but she seemed more interested in a good sniff around the office!
Jessie is our head of security She doesn’t belong to any of the staff, she lives next door to the offices we rent and most days she breaks out and comes to our office to report for duty. (Her owner does own a security company so this only highlights Jessie’s skills!) Named after the ‘Breaking Bad’ character, care of her mischievous nature!
To date we haven’t had a single break in so we have to attribute a 100% success rate to Jessie. Commonly any visitors to site will get a meet and greet, and she will perform a basic search to check if your carrying any food or other ‘items of interest’ into site.
She has most regular visitors to site memorised and will regularly shake down the local postie for treats, and then the regular Amazon delivery driver, and then the regular DPD delivery driver.
Her attendance rate is not very good, however as we only pay her with some fuss, a water bowl and a basket to rest in, this arrangement works well for all concerned. When not in our office she will often be found at one of our neighboring offices on ‘extended outreach’ work.
Outside of work Jessie’s interests include the Postman, Courier drivers, disappearing for a play with Roxy dog, (Head of security for our neighbouring office ‘Home Instead’) and belly rubs.
