20ft Side Opening Shipping Containers (Left Hand Side Opening, One Trip / New)

These one trip (new) 20ft side opening shipping containers are very popular with customers wanting quick and easy access to items stored. Often used for pallets, or for the storage of large and bulky items that won’t fit through the end doors of a shipping container. These containers offer full unobstructed side access which make them a fantastic option for a quicker loading/unloading process or for unusually sized cargo.

As you look from the outside at the end opening doors, the side opening doors are on the left hand side. The vast majority of 20ft side opening shipping containers are built with right hand side opening doors, which makes this range very specialised and will typically be best for a customer who really needs the doors in this configuration. The left handed units are not readily available and will come at a premium cost compared to 20ft High Cube Side Opening Shipping Containers (One Trip / New).

For export use these 20ft side opening shipping containers are very popular for vehicles or oversize items – anything that you can’t easily load through the end doors of a container. Only some of the ranges of side opening containers we have available have floor mounted lashing points along the opening sides (all containers still have the lashing rings on the floor line along the closed side) – so if you need these for securing your cargo just let us know before you order. If they aren’t available on the factory built option we can refit a container to include these floor mounted lashing points. As standard these left hand opening 20ft side opening shipping containers do not come with these floor mounted lashing points.

For storage use these offer excellent easy and quick access to your goods. If you need to store pallets, a traditional shipping container may be problematic as you might have to move all other cargo out to get to the back of the container, so the side opening container is an ideal solution. Also if you have any rapid response storage requirements, or if you’re storing any stock that is simply too big to fit through the end doors in a shipping container.

Door panel sizes do vary from one range to the next but all doors we’ve seen operate in the same manner and will always fold back onto the sides as shown in the video.

Please be advised that these are sold as ‘one trip containers’ and are not brand new. All of our shipping containers are built in the factory in China or the far east and have done 1 trip into the UK since new. Some minor cosmetic wear may be evident from this initial trip. Minor dents and scrapes are reasonably common, as are tire marks inside your container where a fork lift truck or similar may have unloaded goods from inside the container.

Technical Information for 20ft shipping containers

Please note whilst we have tried to be as accurate as possible, some measurements (notably internal measurements) can vary slightly with the development and modernisation of manufacturing techniques over time. We recommend considering a circa 1 inch (2.5cm) tolerance. Where possible we have given a range on known variations in dims between ranges but we can’t guarantee this to be totally accurate for all ranges. If you have a specific sized problem or item to load that’s near these dims please double check with us in advance and if needs be we will get someone to measure the exact container for you.
