Product Description

These one trip (new) 20ft refrigerated shipping containers (also known as Reefers) are built to a superb standard and ideal for anyone wanting a long-term option for the storage or movement of temperature controlled goods.

Please note this is a refrigerated shipping container we are selling and not a walk in fridge or freezer. whilst its core purpose may be similar, there are a number of key structural and statutory differences. The main point to note is that these containers are designed to maintain the temperate of your goods, they are not designed to bring them down from an ambient temperate to frozen or similar. This will overwork the engine and likely cause a major engine failure.

For export use they come with a circa 5 year CSC plate and are sold with a PTI check (‘Pre Trip Inspection’ – the industry standard engine check performed in our depot prior to sale) and also come with manufacturers warranties up to 5 years at time of purchase.

For static site storage use the same warranties still apply however please contact us – they offer a very cost effective option for use as a walk in fridge, freezer or ambient store however we will likely insist on installing and commissioning it for you, and care is required to ensure your use does not invalidate any warranties. We can also quote to add lights and electrics (all shielded to allow jet wash cleaning), thermal curtains and man trap alarms (Thermal curtains may be advisable for efficiency, Man trap alarms may be a legal requirement depending on your use)

For static use you will need a 32A 3 phase power supply with a D-Rated (motor rated) circuit breaker. the power connection must be set to the marine setting as opposed to the UK domestic setting. Each container comes with a 12.5m +/- 0.5m power cable.

As these are very technical items please contact us to discuss your needs and we will be able to offer a quote for the full package for you as well advising you on the suitability of this equipment for your use. Using these as a normal walk in fridge, freezer or ambient temperature controlled store that you may only access occasionally (circa once per day) is straightforward, however with a plethora of potential uses we have come across to date these may not suit every potential environment or use.

These units are typically held in our Rotterdam depot and shipped into UK locations on order. Availability typically circa 1 week.

Please be advised that these are sold as ‘one trip containers’ and are not brand new. All of our shipping containers are built in the factory in China or the far east and have done 1 trip into the UK since new. Some minor cosmetic wear may be evident from this initial trip. Minor dents and scrapes are reasonably common, as are tire marks inside your container where a fork lift truck or similar may have unloaded goods from inside the container.

All of our containers are checked over in our UK depots before sale, and are sold with our wind and watertight guarantees. You can read more on what wear we consider acceptable in our recent article what to expect from a one trip shipping container.

Technical Information for Refrigerated Shipping Containers

Please note whilst we have tried to be as accurate as possible, some measurements (notably internal measurements) can vary slightly with the development and modernisation of manufacturing techniques over time and with different manufacturers of equipment. If you have a specific sized problem or item to load that’s near these dims please double check with us in advance and if needs be we will get someone to measure your exact container before delivery.

More detailed technical specs for individual refrigerated containers are commonly available, Any technical performance information is correct when the container was new and reasonable allowances should be made when purchasing used equipment.
