These used 40ft high cube shipping containers will come in direct from shipping line use and are always professionally checked over and if necessary repaired prior to sale. Each container will be fully CSC plated for export use (on request) with all the information available on a plate fixed to the container door. We cannot guarantee the cosmetic condition of individual containers as this will vary from one shipping container to the next, so whilst we guarantee its suitability to ship, your container could come in any colour and it may have been repaired, individual containers will have different densities of smaller dents & creases.
There will be no holes, big bows or dents that change the shape of the 40ft shipping container and no damage to the structural integrity (e.g. rust easing away at the structure). The reason for this – containers are traded openly and in large volumes. You are normally buying ‘whichever container is the next one off the container stack’ – and this will typically change numerous times between you buying a container from us and a delivery truck going to collect it. Of course, if you have any special requirements for your 40ft high cube shipping container we will do our best to accommodate this for you.
For storage use these used 40ft high cube shipping containers offer amazing value with a capacity of just under 2700 cubic feet (76+ cubic metres), or better than 20 pence per cubic foot per year based on a 10-year lifespan. All units sold for storage use come with our 12-month wind & watertight warranty but realistically you should be expecting a much longer lifespan from any of our used shipping containers for sale. We can also repaint, modify and add additional features such as our high security lock boxes (padlock covers) to any of these used 40ft high cube shipping containers.
The 40ft High cube shipping containers also come from a variety of original owners (shipping companies) who will paint their containers in different colours, they will run them in different international shipping lanes (a common cause for differences in surface cosmetics and degrees of damage during a containers lifetime) and own them for different period of time before being sold on.
For Export use, our used 40ft high cube shipping containers usually come without neutralisation i.e. their original owner’s prefix will show on the container. You may require the container to be neutralised or not neutralised depending on where in the world you are shipping to. If you do need it neutralised please make this clear to us. Neutralisation is usually an additional £30-£50 + VAT, although it is sometimes included FOC if requested in advance. This allows us to offer the best available prices at any particular time in the market. It gives you assurance of a good quality seaworthy container to move your freight at the lowest possible cost.
Technical Information for 40ft Shipping Containers
Please note whilst we have tried to be as accurate as possible, some measurements (notably internal measurements) can vary slightly with the development and modernisation of manufacturing techniques over time with different manufacturers of equipment and with different additional features. If you have a specific sized problem or item to load that’s near these dims please double check with us in advance and if needs be we will get someone to measure your exact container before delivery.
