Our Motion Sensor LED lights for Shipping Containers are for the purpose of being able to make your way around your container when it’s dark out, without tripping over!
These lights are super simple to set up and install and they don’t require a permanent power connection which usually would be considerably more expensive, and may also mean your shipping container requires planning permission. Our lights are not intended for ‘heavy use’ such as lighting an office or workshop that will have someone in it for long periods of time.
Whilst they are fantastic for use in a shipping container, this is not the only use they are good for. Most of our team have a ‘tester’ light in a cupboard or wardrobe at home! Also sheds, toolboxes and more can all benefit from a motion sensor light that activates only when you need it.
For occasional use (we suggest a typical storage container is visited once or twice per week, for a few minutes at a time) one full charge should last you many months.
- Magnetic back of light for fixing to a container roof plus a ‘3M’ adhesive strip for mounting to non-magnetic surfaces
- 10ft/3 metre motion sensor range
- When in any motion sensory mode they auto turn off with motion for 18-20 seconds
- 120-degree sensing range
- 33x LED light with low consumption 2400mAh lithium rechargeable battery
- Min 120 Lumens when charged
- Expected battery life 2 – 6 months depending on usage
They are extremely easy to use – they come with a USB charge cable and a removable 3m sticky strip bar as well, if you are wanting to use this on a non-steel surface.
Once you have fully charged your light, simply press and hold the power button for 2 seconds, and that will turn your light on. If you then tap the power button once, it is now in mode one and a green light will flash. This is motion and light sensor mode. Tap the power button again, you will get mode two and a red light will flash. This is the motion sensor-only mode, and that is the mode we would generally recommend.
The motion sensor has a range of approximately 3m or 10ft, and the light will turn off after 20 seconds without motion.
When the charging cable is connected; if a blue light is shining, that means your light is charging. Then, when a deep red light shines, that means your light is fully charged.
You just need to press and hold the button for 2 seconds to turn your light on or off.
Once you have selected your setting you simply need to place them against the steel wall or roof of the container, and they will stick into place with the magnets on the back. The only catch is, they will need to be removed for recharging. OR, you could use a portable USB power bank to re-charge your lights.
Basic electrics packages for shipping containers start at around £500 + VAT, if you want lighting inside your container for better access and safety, these lights offer a good quality but very cost-effective alternative. They are great at helping to prevent trips and slips in a shipping container, especially on darker mornings and winter afternoons. They require no installation other than holding them against the metal surface where you want them – they are much easier and very quick and cheap for large sites to install.
