Shipping Containers in Bristol

We have supplied shipping containers to customers in Bristol and the South West for various projects including bars, housing, and offices for local businesses.

Although our head office is in Wythall, near Birmingham (where we also have a depot), we supply shipping containers across the UK.  The excellent road links around the South West, and the fact that we have a depot in Bristol means that we are able to supply containers across the region – and shipping containers are in high demand here so we are always pleased to offer our services!

Let’s take a look at some of the shipping containers we have supplied to customers in Bristol and the surrounding areas:

Shipping Container for Battle Archery

Battle Archery is a fantastic combination of Archery and Paintballing!  Players use bows and foam-tipped arrows as they face each other in various exciting mission-based scenarios.  Full training is given prior to sessions so that all players can go to ‘battle’ fully prepped to face their opponents!  A few years ago we were asked to supply a refurbished 20ft shipping container to the Battle Archery Limited HQ at the Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park in Bristol.  This particular container was transformed into an office and equipment store.  Modifications included the addition of a new high-security shutter window and lockable personnel door for easy access.  Our customers preferred the smarter option of a refurbished container over the more ‘rustic’ appearance of a standard used container.  Our refurbished containers are repainted in the clients’ choice of colour, and on this occasion the ‘combat’ themed green RAL6007 was the perfect choice!  Learn more about our Shipping Container Painting service here.

Shipping Container Housing for the Homeless in Bristol

Shipping container homes are a growing trend and have been featured as ‘Grand Design’ projects around the world, but an increasing number of homeless support projects are utilising shipping containers to provide lower-cost housing too.  These sturdy and sound steel boxes can be converted into the wind and watertight homes with some fairly simple and cost-effective modifications which makes them perfect for temporary homes that can be produced in a fairly short timeframe.

A few years ago we were contacted by Help Bristol’s Homeless – a social enterprise partnership who were in search of a used shipping container to transform into a new living space.  For this particular project, they opted for a 30ft shipping container.  Whilst 30ft shipping containers are not as readily available as a more standard 20ft used container, they offer a little more floor space.

On this occasion, we supplied a standard container (no modifications) for a team of Help Bristol’s Homeless volunteers to modify themselves, but if required our team can carry out the modifications for you – including adding lining and insulation, installing plumbing, fully certified electrics, lighting, doors, windows and more.

The Help Bristol’s Homeless mission is to change the face of homelessness in Bristol. They provide temporary accommodation for up to 15 residents until they are able to move to a more permanent home. This accommodation is a gated community of converted shipping containers – which have been transformed into self-container micro-flats.  It is a fantastic initiative, to learn more you can follow the link to a video below.

Shipping Container Bar for Motion Nightclub, Bristol

We are often contacted by customers looking for shipping container bars, and we like to think they are one of our specialities!  Motion Nightclub in Bristol asked us for help in creating a two-storey bar and office complex to be used as an outdoor dance venue – and we were there for the challenge!

For the initial stage of this project we supplied 3x 40ft containers, 1x 30ft container & 1x 20ft container.  Each container was repainted in dramatic ‘on-brand’ black and fitted with shutters, serving hatches and push-bar fire exits.  This batch of containers was used to create the ‘ground floor’ section of the two-storey venue – placed around a central open courtyard area.  The next stage of the project was to stack another layer of containers on top to create a series of walkways and seating areas above.  The end result is a great outdoor entertainment space – a concept that has become hugely popular after the lockdown restrictions introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Next time you are in Bristol, pay a visit to Congo Falls Adventure Golf and see if you can spot the 10ft cladded shipping container we supplied to them!  10ft shipping containers are an ideal size for a service kiosk or security office and with a few smart modifications, they can look very smart indeed.  On this occasion, we added a lockable personnel door and serving hatch, plus internal insulation and electrics – and the exterior was finished with a stylish timber-clad finish.
