Can I buy 12ft shipping containers?
12ft shipping containers are not a standard size, in fact anything smaller than 20ft is no longer used in the shipping industry outside of very specialised applications. However, we often find that customers have a gap of a specific size or an item that requires a 12ft shipping container. To fulfill this need we’ve worked hard to set up a national network of yards capable of cutting down 40ft shipping containers into smaller sections for custom sized 12ft containers (and other sizes as required). So for any customers that need this specific size we have our made to order range of refurbished 12ft shipping containers.
Refurbished 12ft shipping containers
All our refurbished 12ft shipping containers will be made to order in one of our conversion depots. All our refurbished 12ft shipping containers come with a repaint in your choice of marine grade paint externally, A high security lock box and most will include a flat panel (easy open) door option.
As these are made to order our yards often work to a typical 2 week turnaround time.These 12 ft shipping containers are sold with our 12 month wind & watertight guarantee (just like all our shipping containers!)
New (one trip) 12ft shipping containers
New 12ft shipping containers are possible to make, however as a non standard size we would need to take a new 20ft or 40ft shipping container and cut it down to size for you. this is obviously a fair bit more expensive than a new 20ft shipping container, so we often suggest a 20ft new build container will be more cost effective than a new 12ft shipping container.
However if you have a very specific gap or space to fill, or if you have a very specific item going inside (Generators, electrical switch gear, pumps etc) then it could be that a 12ft shipping container is well worth paying the premium. A new 12ft shipping container will come looking neat and smart and will likely hold a much better lifespan when compared to a refurbished 12ft shipping container.
Will a 10ft Shipping Container suit?
Both a 10ft and a 20ft container options will often either cost less, or the larger options about the same as a 12ft option, so yes if you can work with a 10ft shipping container its probably a fair bit cheaper. If you have the space available for a 20ft shipping container, it probably the same price or cheaper than a 12ft shipping container depending on geography, range and the commodity prices at that time.
