These one trip (new) 20ft tunnel containers are very popular for a variety of storage applications as well as the occasional specialised export use.

For storage use, they are great for general or pallet storage and a lot cheaper than the side opening 20ft containers. We also see a number of conversions into boiler rooms, garages, chemical stores or in one case a ‘man cave’ for a customer downsizing his house and in need of some additional storage and workshop space.

With double cargo doors at each end, if storing pallets, it does mean the hardest to reach item is never far off, or you can use the tunnel to help rotate goods in storage nice and easily (load in one end, unload from the other). They also come in 9’6” high cube options. Both sets of doors include a factory fitted lock box (padlock cover) as standard.

They can also be partitioned off in the middle, offering 2 separate 10ft storage units, or potentially the partition can be moved along the shipping container to vary the sizes of the 2 storage units inside. This can be a popular option for self storage yards looking to save on the cost of new 10ft shipping containers which commonly cost a similar overall price per unit to these 20ft tunnels.

The container in the video is a standard 20ft with double doors at one end only, but otherwise this should give you a very good idea what to expect when buying a one trip container for storage or export use.

We have a number of slightly different ranges available with our top spec units coming with additional vents, a non-porous and Eco-friendly bamboo floor throughout (very hear wearing and ideal if you may get the odd oil spill or similar inside your container). If sat static on your site there’s really very little to wear or get damaged on these and you can quite realistically expect over a decade of good storage use (however we have to draw the line on guarantees at some point – and we offer a 12 month wind & watertight guarantee with everything we sell).

Please be advised that these are sold as ‘one trip containers’ and are not brand new. All of our shipping containers are built in the factory in China or the far east and have done 1 trip into the UK since new. Some minor cosmetic wear may be evident from this initial trip. Minor dents and scrapes are reasonably common, as are tire marks inside your container where a fork lift truck or similar may have unloaded goods from inside the container.

Technical Information for 20ft shipping containers

Please note whilst we have tried to be as accurate as possible, some measurements (notably internal measurements) can vary slightly with the development and modernisation of manufacturing techniques over time. We recommend considering a circa 1 inch (2.5cm) tolerance. Where possible we have given a range on known variations in dims between ranges but we can’t guarantee this to be totally accurate for all ranges. If you have a specific sized problem or item to load that’s near these dims please double check with us in advance and if needs be we will get someone to measure the exact container for you.
