Product Description

The pictures above are some indicative examples of some of the used 40ft refrigerated shipping containers (also known as Reefers) we’ve previously offered and sold. As reasonably specialised units we will often have a variety of ages, the engine makes and locations available.

Typically speaking, nearly all of the units now coming into us direct from shipping line or leasing company use are high cube (9ft 6 high) options. the vast majority of shipping lines and leasing companies stopped using the standard height 8ft 6 high options some time ago and the 8ft 6 high units we see in the marketplace are typically much older containers.

All units can be set as a minimum anywhere in the -20 to +20 Celsius range, newer models have larger temperature ranges. NB much like buying a used car, performance will not be as good as when it was new so we recommend ensuring the max or min set temp is a degree or two over what you need.

For export use, these units are sold with a minimum 6 month CSC plate and industry-standard PTI checks on the engine before the sale. for the final stage PTI tests to be done we will often need a minimum of 1-2 working days to make units ready for you.

For site storage use these can offer excellent value fridges, freezers or ambient storage units. however, depending on your specific use you may wish to, or be obliged by law to add in extras such as a man trap alarm. Our experienced engineers can also offer lighting options (all shielded to allow for jet wash cleaning) thermal curtains to increase efficiency, lights, data recorders (some units may come with these already fitted), easy-open insulated doors, plate floors, and we can even offer high-end conversions which may involve additional doors, separate fridge and freezer compartments and other structural work.

For static site storage use, you will need a 32 Amp 5 pin power supply with a Motor rated or D-Rated circuit breaker. All containers come with a 12.5m +/- 0.5m power cable. All engines are fitted at the opposite end to the doors.

manufacturers of equipment. If you have a specific sized problem or item to load that’s near these dims please double check with us in advance and if needs be we will get someone to measure your exact container before delivery.

More detailed technical specs for individual refrigerated containers are commonly available, Any technical performance information is correct when the container was new and reasonable allowances should be made when purchasing used equipment.
