Shelving Kit to fill both long sides and the front end of a 40ft Shipping Container
This heavy duty racking kit will offer racking on all sides of a 40ft shipping container. These heavy duty shelving kits will arrive flat packed with full instructions. No special tools are required (a mallet only) and it will take 2 people approx 20 minutes to build each shelving unit. These are very simple to build and you can view detailed institutions in our online guide on building our shelving kits.
With a huge max 600 KLgs UDL capacity per shelving unit, these units are a genuine heavy duty option which will cove the vast majority of domestic, commercial and industrial uses and this can help offer maximum flexibility for future options.
Our range of shipping container racking features heavy-duty shelving and is ideal for making the maximum usage of the container space. The easy assembly design of this shelving means you’re not wasting time fiddling around with nuts and bolts. Shelves have a pitch adjustability of 38.1mm allowing you to space your shelves to suit most requirements. Shelf 4 is always placed at the top of the uprights to ensure stability. We can add in extra shelves for a small additional cost – so, if you require a 5-or 6 shelf bay, please make this clear when ordering.
You can also see a short video on our heavy duty racking options and how to build each unit here:
Tie-plates are included with each kit so each bay can be tethered to its neighbour for improved stability.
Our 40ft racking option 3 is designed to go down two sides of a 40ft shipping container and the front (non-door) end. For this, we recommend 6 racking bays per side that are 1980h x 1830w x 455d (mm) in size plus 1 racking bay for the end that is 1980h x 1220w x 455d (mm) in size.
Total racking length for 6-bays of 1830mm wide shelving is 10,980mm leaving around 1060mm of space at the cargo door end.
Fully racked – for this option, the non-door end rack is 1220mm wide and 455mm deep. This front end shelf needs to fit in a gap of 1440mm (assuming you place the start of the side racks against the non-door end panel) leaving around 600mm of free wall space down the side of a container.
For this option, the non-door end rack is 1220mm wide to fit in a gap of 1440mm (assuming you place the start of the side racks against the non-door end panel) leaving around 200mm of free space along the front end (non-door end) wall.
600kg UDL is for a Uniformly Distributed Load per shelf.
