These One trip (new) 40ft tunnel containers are essentially the same as a standard container, but with a set of double cargo doors at each end (as opposed to one end only). These 40ft tunnel containers are popular for a variety of applications including boiler rooms, machinery stores (you don’t’ need to reverse your diggers, cars or even go carts out of the container every time!) and in one case even a land train.
Often sought after by self storage yards that may want to add a partition in the middle and turn it into 2x 20ft storage containers, with the flexibility to add additional partitions and further doors into the sides to get extra storage bays for rental.
Commonly available in green and blue options, but we can always repaint, modify or covert if required for a specific use or site.
These units are not in widespread use in the shipping industry, and as a result only available as a new option in a factory made, export ready spec. The are also available as high cube 9’6” tunnel containers but again limited availability so please ask for more information.
For export use we typically find these are also of interest for specialist applications, but as with all our new containers you can expect a circa 5 year CSC plate and the container to meet all international shipping standards.
For site storage use we can also commonly offer a used / refurbished option that may come in as a more cost effective options depending on your use. For example if this container is intended for static storage use at your site, and you do not intend to lift it loaded with goods we might offer a unit we have fabricated that will save you around £1000, but as we’ve made it in our yard it wont’ be suitable to lift when loaded with very heavy weights and should be used for static storage use only.
In the case of refurbishments and customisations we can also fit additional doors into the sides as well or undertake other work such as doors or windows As a reasonably specialised item we typically only take a few deliveries per year – so stock and availability constantly shift.
Where possible we recommend planning purchases ahead but of course please contact us and we will always be able to advise on the best options available at that time.
Please be advised that these are sold as ‘one trip containers’ and are not brand new. All of our shipping containers are built in the factory in China or the far east and have done 1 trip into the UK since new. Some minor cosmetic wear may be evident from this initial trip. Minor dents and scrapes are reasonably common, as are tire marks inside your container where a fork lift truck or similar may have unloaded goods from inside the container.
