Product Description
These refurbished 6ft shipping containers are fantastic value and ideal for storage use. The examples shown are ones we have previously supplied. These 6ft shipping containers all come wind and watertight guaranteed, freshly repainted externally to your colour choice and with a high security lock box included.
Individual specs (and prices) vary slightly between depots in the UK. The ones pictured here are made to order in our East London depot around 10-15 working days from point of order to delivery (although we can push these through reasonably quickly if we already have some in production for example – please ask.) Made from cutting down larger containers to size. They include a newly constructed set of flat panel doors with 1x locking bar on the right hand door as standard, made from sheet steel the same thickness as the container side walls with an angle iron frame for rigidity.
Our refurbished 6fts include a high security lock box (padlock housing) as standard and will be given a complete external repaint* in marine grade paint (your choice of basic RAL colour; whites, light greys, creams and very light colours may/will be a premium as we have to double coat.)
Please be aware these are made from second hand containers, so the cosmetics of the original containers can vary (prior to them being cut and repainted). You can expect some dents, creases, minor surface rust under the paintwork and repairs to the container chassis. However, you are assured of a structurally sound, clean looking, wind and water tight container. Although there is no rubber seal around the flat doors we do weld on a ‘weather guard’ above the doors so we still offer our standard wind and water tight guarantee on any container. The insides will be clean and tidy but typically not repainted unless requested.
Please also note than when cutting up a larger container to make our 6ft refurbished shipping containers we do have to work within the constraints of the corrugation on the sides of the container. This means an approximate 10cm / 4 inch tolerance in the length dimension, so if you have a specific space that this container must fit into, or if you have an item of a specific size to put inside the container, then please let us know early on and we can work to meet your specific requirements.
Security & Door Type
We would suggest purchasing one of our Shipping Container padlocks or our insurance rated Squire padlocks With a lock box and a padlock it gives you piece of mind that your container is highly secure.
Although our standard refurbished 6ft containers come with a flat panel door option we can offer the other end of a container we chop up instead (i.e. the original cargo door end) This will typically come in at a small premium £POA.
The original doors have 4 locking bars, heavy duty rubber seals (rather than a ‘weather guard’ above the doors) and we’ll still fit a lockbox in the price. But, please be aware, if it has original doors it will likely have a flat front end as pictured.

In many circumstances a standard used 20ft shipping container or a refurbished 20ft shipping container will be a better ‘value for space’ option over an 6ft. If you’re only purchasing one unit it will arrive on a the same size rigid vehicle a 20ft would and you’ll essentially get more than 3x the space an 6ft would offer!
