Product Description
Flat Pack Storage Containers
Our galvanized flat pack storage containers are great storage units for a wide range of applications. The major bonus versus a shipping container is that these can be built almost anywhere, including places where we can’t deliver a ready-built shipping container, (locations that aren’t accessible for our delivery trucks, eg back gardens, fields, tight church yards and more.)Â These 4 x 2.1m flat pack storage containers arrive flat packed in individual panels that can be carried into position. (please note the weight of the floor panel when considering if you can move it into position and how many helpers you will need)
Main features include.
- Easy To Build. you will need a socket set, a screwdriver, a spirit level and some helpers to build this. All parts, nuts, bolts, locks etc are included.
- Secure. They come with 2x 5 cylinder locks as standard. There is an additional locking bar and padlock option if you feel you need an extra level of security on these.
- Well designed. this is a tried and tested product that has been on sale for many years with us.
- Colour options. Available in a plain galvanized steel finish (cheapest) or with green, blue or grey powder coating options. (£228 + VAT additional for power coated options)
- Lots of features built in. The design includes built-in ventilation, roof gutter/drainage system, and stainless steel door hinges and comes with a host of custom-designed extra options including levelling feet, forklift feet, folding steel ramp, insulation kits and more. (please see below for the full list of extras)
- Guaranteed wind & watertight
- Stocks held in the UK
- All instructions are provided (and please check out our ‘how to build’ video below which shows off these flat packs in detail, plus this also includes a few handy tips it building one of these yourself). Instructions are easy to follow.
- Optional linking kit – allowing you to join any 2 equal length sides on 2 containers together to make a larger single space.
- Optional insulation kit for condensation control (ideal if storing fabrics or textiles, polished furniture, foodstuffs, stock to go into retail or other potentially moisture-sensitive items)
- Advertised as a 2 person build. With these larger 4m units, we suggest you may need more than 1 helper, especially if you want to lift and move the floor panel. (Panel weights are listed below)
Our flat pack storage range has recently been subject to a ‘makeover’. They now feature rounded die-cast aluminium roof corners, stronger wall panels, an improved double-locking system and stainless-steel hinges.
The new stainless-steel hinges not only look good, but they also improve security too and the door and frame are made from thicker steel. We now also offer an optional insulation pack that fits directly onto the profiled panels within the unit which don’t need any additional fixings to install them.
To assemble the unit, you will need a socket set with a 13mm and 19mm socket, plus a screwdriver. All nuts, bolts and assembly instructions are provided. A couple of helpers will be needed, expect this built to take 3-4 hours if this is your first flat pack. You can likely reduce this time significantly with experience or planning.
If you have linked units together, you can’t lift or re-position the units. Single (un-linked) units may be lifted using a forklift (with the forklift feel option) or top lifted by crane or similar (if using the lifting eye option)
For demounting and relocating the units in their flat-packed condition, we suggest you only use the original packaging whenever possible. Most importantly keep the transport bolts handy for re-use if this is your plan.
This 4 x 2-metre flat pack storage container is ideal for several light industrial or domestic applications. These units are man-portable (minimum 2 people per panel) and are ideal for a range of hard-to-access locations such as gardens, courtyards and other enclosed outdoor spaces.
These units are new ex-factory, very smart, solid and secure, quick and easy to install and, for the quality, come in at an exceptional price.
Made from 0.60mm galvanized steel panels with box profile corrugations, strengthened with a galvanized steel frame. These units are solid and sturdy and offer an excellent level of protection for anyone wanting to secure their stuff.
Side door option on flat pack storage containers
These flat pack containers do come with a side door option, you can see an example of a side door container in one of the final product images.
Side doors are an option for all sizes in our flat pack range, but these are not straightforward for us to offer. Things to note.
- Side doors can fit into either side of the container
- The doors are always right hand hinged and open outwards.
- The side doors do not affect the operation of the roof drainage
- We sometimes hold small volume of side doors in stock in the UK (so always ask if you want one and we can check what we have available), but these will commonly go onto our next factory order. When we order these with the factory lead times will be approx. 3 months.
A detailed look at our Flat Pack Storage Container Range
This ‘how to video shows us building one of our flat pack containers for our head office. I(t includes a lot of detail on the flat pack containers and some handy tips if looking to build yourself.

How heavy is each panel?
This is a common question from our customers when buying a flat pack unit. We would suggest that two people carry each panel at a time to be safe. Below is a chart for each of the panels:
Type of Panel | 4M UNIT |
---|---|
Chassis | 153 KG |
Side Panel | 60 KG |
End Panel | 31 KG |
Door Panel | 67 KG |
Roof Panel | 83 KG |
Flat pack storage container options and prices
Prices are plus delivery. Delivery charges for the 4 x 2-metre flat pack storage containers to UK mainland addresses range from £1-300 depending on location and based on a part load (ie we try to group our deliveries to keep the costs down for you) faster-dedicated deliveries are available but will be costed individually. Delivery for accessories is free when ordered with the main product, otherwise, charges will apply. Access to a large rigid vehicle will be required. Delivery is kerbside only. Collection available from our warehouse in Surrey if preferred.
All our standard (cheapest) deliveries are undertaken on a 3-week rotation service. Our warehouse has 1 delivery truck and sends the truck into one area of the UK each day, taking approx. 3 weeks to cover all regions. This means we won’t set up a delivery for a specific day you choose. Instead – once we have your order and payment in, we will authorise the warehouse to send the goods out for you. They will then confirm over the following day or two when we will next have a delivery truck in your area. This assumes we have stock in hand ready to go. in the event we are out of stock or can’t deliver in this standard timeframe we will let you know at the time of order if not before.

Shelving guide for flat pack containers
Our shelving guide is designed to assist you in selecting the right number of shelving uprights and arms to suit the weight (UDL) per shelf that you require.
Please note that the weight range for this shelving is 30 – 60kg UDL per shelf – UDL is Uniform Distributed Load.
The shelves are sump shelves, designed to capture any leaks. The shelf uprights are the vertical supports that hold the shelf arms in place onto which, you place your sump shelves. The shelf uprights simply snap into place so, no need to drill holes in the unit.
The maximum number of shelves that can be accommodated per pair of uprights is three.
