Shipping Containers for Fireworks Storage

As much as we all enjoy the balmy days of summer (apart from when it gets a bit ‘too’ summery and we’re enduring the blistering heatwaves of recent weeks!) there’s no denying that we also love autumn and all it has to offer. Cozy nights around an open fire listening to the crackle and spit of the logs, snuggling in a blanket, and sipping on a steaming mug of hot chocolate.

It’s great fun preparing for Halloween, enjoying the autumn weather, picking out the best pumpkin, and of course, getting ready for Bonfire Night!

Who doesn’t love getting bundled up in their winter woollies to enjoy one of our favourite past-times, a fireworks display?

Storing Fireworks in a Shipping Container

While fireworks are beautiful and great fun, it’s essential that great care is taken when storing them in readiness for the big event.  If you are preparing to put on your own fireworks display it is important to remember that there are some important rules for storing your fireworks.

It is vital that fireworks are stored away from any sources of heat, whilst ensuring they are kept completely dry and stored somewhere where the temperature doesn’t change significantly. You should also be careful to keep your fireworks in their original packaging and ensure that you restrict entry to wherever they are stored – children and animals should be kept clear of fireworks at all times.

The great news is that all of the above storage requirements for fireworks can be achieved by storing your fireworks in one of our shipping containers! Shipping containers are structurally sound, wind/waterproof, and extremely secure (especially when fitted with one of our handy lockboxes which will add further protection to your container and deter any wannabe intruders from attempting to break the lock).

What Containers are best for storing Fireworks?

Storage ContainersOur storage containers are available in a variety of sizes – either standard 20ft or 40ft containers, or you may require a more bespoke container size which we can help with too.  Not sure what size container you need?  Use our guide to choosing container sizes to help you decide.

Our stock features used, refurbished, or new (one trip) shipping containers – if you need some pointers to help you decide what container you need, have a look at our article:  “Choosing a new, used, or refurbished shipping container for storage use”

Keeping your (gun) powder dry is vital for the safe and effective use of fireworks and we recommend that you add one of our self-fit insulation kits to help prevent condensation and moisture build-up within your storage container.

When deciding where to place your storage container, look for a spot that is away from other buildings. You should also consider access to the site for a container delivery.  It should be on level, hard-standing ground with enough space for our delivery driver to access with ease.  If you have any queries on siting and delivery of your shipping container please ask our team when you enquire. You can also consult our Container delivery and siting guide.
