Shipping Container Canopy Installation for Balfour Beatty

Balfour Beatty Rail contacted us to help them create a covered workshop area. They also wanted a shipping container to be used as an office for the covered workshop. We arranged for the shipping container canopy installation on site. This way Balfour Beatty had nothing to worry about, the whole job was done for them!
Shipping Container Canopy Installation
We have a range of shipping container canopies with an optional installation service. The canopies can be used to create many covered work areas. We’ve seen them used for barns, oversized storage even aircraft hangars! In this case the canopy created a covered workshop.
The canopy is fixed to the edges of two shipping containers. The gap between the containers can be 8m, 10m, 12m or 14m. They can also be fitted on double stacked containers, to give extra height.
Made from 60mm heavy duty steel framework and 50mm galvanised bracings, these canopies are hard wearing and secure. The canopy itself is made from a heavy duty fire retardant PVC covering.
Balfour Beatty received their canopy from us a few years back. However, in the never ending strive to improve our products, this canopy design has since been changed. Instead of the peaked canopy you can see in the picture, the new design has a domed shape. This doming helps with the frost and snow removal in colder months.
Balfour Beatty opted to have the standard white container canopy. Although, other colours are available on request. They also chose to have a PVC end panel installed at the back of the canopy. This panel protects that end from the weather and helps to keep the equipment dry.
We also sent out our experienced team of engineers to install the canopy to the containers over 2 days. As standard, the canopies come with self-build instructions. However, we do offer an optional installation service. Installation prices will vary depending on geography.
Shipping Container Office
To make the most of the space, Balfour Beatty opted to use one container as an office. We kitted out the shipping container with all the necessary modifications to create a small office for the workshop.
Our conversion depot ply lined and insulated the unit. Electrics were also fitted, along with small heater for those colder days. The container also had a personnel door installed for easy access for the staff. A window was also added to allow some natural light in.
Building an office/covered workshop this way is extremely cost effective in comparison a traditional bricks and mortar set up.
