A shipping container drying room can be used by a variety of sites. They have proven popular for construction sites, industrial sites, outdoor activity centres – even events companies who might get caught out by unpredictable English weather!

These units are ventilated spaces that can be used to dry clothing, footwear and equipment and will help to prevent mould. Being able to properly dry will also prevent discomfort with staff or visitors.

40ft units are a popular size for a shipping container drying room, but other sizes can be converted too. For conversions like this, we do recommend using one trip containers. However, refurbished units will also work for a project like this.

These units are made to order and customisable to your project. There are some elements which are very common in drying rooms, such as;

• Melamine Lining and Insulation – wipe clean surface, ideal for drying rooms as it non porous and durable. Insulation will help maintain the temperature within the drying room.
• Ventilation – allows airflow out of the container, removing moisture from the container and prevent condensation forming inside.
• Electrics – strip lighting and plug sockets
• Heating – help keep the container warm and speed up the drying process
• Non Slip Flooring – easy to clean up and safer for those inside
• Hooks, Benches, Hanging Rails – for hanging and drying wet clothing
• Personnel Door – easy access

There are a number of other features that can be also be added in, like electrical vents, drainage and PVC curtains to help keep the heat in.

We can also fit electrics to suit certain equipment, like spin / tumble dryers. If you do require any specific electrical set up, such as 3 phase electrics or waterproof fittings, this is all achievable too.
