Product Description
Our 40ft open top shipping containers are typically used to ship over size items that won’t fit inside a normal shipping container, or for goods that are best or more easily loaded through the top of the container. They typically come with a tarpaulin cover but a removable hard top option is also available. The majority of open tops now also come with a removable header bar above the main cargo doors.
New one trip units, although a lot smarter, will come in at a good premium on used 40ft open top shipping containers and, majority of the time, if they are only going for shipping and you don’t necessarily need to use the container specifically at destination, you can get away with a used unit with 6 months CSC (rather than one of these new one trips with 5 year CSC)
All these units are original shipping containers, i.e. they are factory made as open top containers and they have not been converted from normal dry (or closed top) containers. The converted units typically have much lower payloads and are not as strong or as rigid as the original units
As with all one trip containers, these have all done one trip over from China and may have small imperfections consistent with this initial trip (e.g. minor dents, tyre marks from a forklift unloading etc.), but all containers are checked on arrival so you are assured of a structurally sound unit that will be sold in a seaworthy condition, and all our containers come with our 12-month warranty against natural water or weather egress. These new one trip seaworthy containers come with a circa 5-year CSC plate. Our new units are all held in our Rotterdam depot, we typically have smaller numbers in stock ready to go at 24 hours notice and can have them moved into any of our UK depots very quickly.
We typically have a few locations in stock in the UK, however this changes on a weekly basis as the shipping line will often sell us the containers wherever they happen to end up. We can of course move units to any of our UK depots at reasonably short notice. For this reason local prices and availability will vary so please contact us for a quote if needed.
