A shipping container serving hatch is a fantastic way of offering unobstructed access to serve or pass objects through a shipping container side wall. Ideal for a shipping container cafe, a shipping container bar, ticket booth or servery of almost any sort.
Coming repainted to match the container colour (the affected area gets ‘paint matched’ as best we can on a used container really depending on the original container colour) they will have a smart finish. New (one trip) containers come in standard RAL colours so matching hatches to the colour of a one trip container is not a problem although very minor paint differences are to be expected. We will only completely repaint the whole container to match if the hatch is fitted to one of our refurbished shipping containers.
The package on offer here includes the frame, weather-proof lip, handle, locking bolts and the gas struts as standard. All fitted to the shipping container by our yard prior to delivery. As well as the repaint previously mentioned we can also add vents or extra security as necessary (at additional cost) meaning these serving hatches really are a multi purpose feature. They are secure and do not affect our wind and water tight guarantee.
Serving hatch sizes & prices
Made to order in our East London depot we can create almost any size serving hatch but will have to fit gas struts accordingly. This means prices can vary subject to requirements. We can fabricate these in our other depots, slight price variations will apply. As this is a bespoke build option as opposed to a standardised design, the exact spec may vary slightly from one yard to the next. If you need any particular feature please let us know and we can of course ensure this is included for you.
A recent serving hatch option was 3’6” high x 8′ wide and priced at £825.00 + VAT, but as we build these to order almost any size is workable and prices will vary with the size of the hatch and the spec of gas strut we need to buy in to hold the weight.
Ordinarily a serving hatch conversion will form part of a larger project that might include doors, lining, electrics and perhaps windows. If you’re planning such a project and want to find out more, we suggest calling us during office hours to discuss your project as we might be able to recommend ways to plan or structure your job to help you come up with the best and most cost-effective solution.
As is always sensible it never hurts to contact us with any enquiries or requirements and our team will help out and offer as much advice as we can.
