As a 6ft container is not a standard size in the shipping industry, here’s a brief guide on what we can offer for anyone looking for a secure 6ft container to use for storage.
Used 6ft Containers
As 6ft is a non standard size for a shipping container, used 6ft containers are very rare. Very occasionally we are offered to buy back a used 6ft container from a customer who has previously brought a new container from us and they are now finished with the container.
However, we may well only see one or two 6ft containers returned to us like this every year, and as we have a much stronger demand than supply we also offer our range of 6ft refurbished shipping containers which are commonly more readily available.
Refurbished 6ft Containers
We make up a very neat range of refurbished 6ft containers in our London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Leeds operations. These small refurbished shipping containers are made by cutting down a much larger 40ft container into sections. We then add some newly constructed (easy open) flat panel doors to the 6ft container frame, blank off any open end and give the container an all over repaint externally (in your choice of colour if made to order).
We also include a high security lock box (padlock cover) as we do with our entire refurbished range.
New 6ft Containers
New 6ft shipping containers are almost impossible to source in the UK because they’re not a popular size. Some 6 and 7ft shipping containers are shipping into the UK inside a ‘nest’ of smaller containers (a 10ft container with a 9ft inside, and an 8ft container inside again, and a 7ft or 6ft container inside this one – like a set of Russian dolls on an industrial scale!). We can order in new build 6 ft containers that come from our galvanised range – however at times and with small volume orders a refurbished 6ft container may come in an awful lot cheaper, as might a larger new container if you have space for it.
With good volume requirements of a lot of ‘smaller’ size shipping containers we have the expertise to source to meet demand for both regular or bulk projects.
