Entry #210 on our list is this shipping container Laser Clay Shooting Centre that we created for an outdoor activity centre near Swindon. This project involved a used 40ft high cube shipping container.
The Challenge
Our customer for this project was an activity centre in Liddington which offers a variety of outdoor pursuits. They required a robust and weatherproof shelter for their visitors to use during their laser clay pigeon shooting sessions. The shelter needed to provide lots of space for the users to rest, while also offering an unobstructed view of the shooting range. The shelter also needed to be cost-effective, durable in all weather conditions (thanks to our wonderful British climate!), and quick and easy to install.
The Project: A Shipping Container Laser Clay Shooting Shelter delivered to Liddington, Near Swindon
After assessing our customer’s requirements, we suggested using a 40ft high Cube container to create the shelter. High cube shipping containers add an extra foot of height compared to a standard height shipping container. This offers more headroom and creates an open, airy feel within the shelter.
We began the conversion with a used 40ft high cube container from our existing stick. Our conversion team removed one side of the shipping container which opened up the structure. This gave a clear view of the shooting range making it easy for the participants to be fully engaged in their group activity.
Next, we repainted the interior and exterior of the shipping container in a standard natural green (RAL 6028) which would help it to blend seamlessly into the outdoor environment. This improved the overall aesthetic of the container and also gave an extra layer of protection against the elements.
Interior Features of the container
To enhance the functionality of the container shelter we added a timber bench along the back wall to give the players a sheltered area to sit while they wait for their turn. The timber bench was crafted from high-quality wood to ensure durability and gave it a more rustic, natural look to complement the overall design of the container shelter.

This container shelter conversion project was completed by the talented team in our London depot (we have depots situated across the whole of the UK). Once finished, the converted container shelter was delivered to our customers and into place, ready for players to start using it!
