In the middle of October 2022, they approached a member of our team and enquired about our 20ft Shipping Container with Roller Shutter but to be made from a One-Trip container and repainted to RAL5013 to match their existing containers.

Shipping Containers with a Roller Shutter

Our roller shutter containers are constructed in our Manchester or London depots and can be operated manually or electrically. Roller shutters can be any size you need; however, they are priced per foot. We recommend if you are looking for a roller shutter, let us know what size you need and we can quote based on the smallest size shutter that you can work with. This allows you to get the best possible price.

For a 20ft container, the largest size roller shutter will be a 17ft roller shutter allowing you to have full side access to the container, high cube containers will cost more due to the shutter being 1ft higher. While it is possible to put full side access roller shutters on a 40ft container, we would highly recommend checking out the alternatives below which are generally more cost effective due to their size.

Alternative Shipping Container Doors

When it comes to alternative side doors, there are many options to choose from. We have both factory-built and custom-made alternatives – all of which have their own purposes. Here are some alternatives that we can offer:

Full Side Access:

• 20ft Full Side Access and 40ft Full Side Access containers open up the full length of the container. This is a popular request as it is convenient for its easy-access storage. As they are not commonly used for shipping, Full Side Access Containers are produced in much smaller numbers than a standard end opening container, because of this they tend to be a higher priced option.
• A Full Side Access Container is advantageous when you are storing items that are wider than the standard cargo doors at the end of a shipping container.

Additional Cargo Doors/Re-siting:

• For this option, we can cut off the cargo door end of the container and have it moved anywhere on the long side of the container. The ends of the container will be blanked off.
• Alternatively, if you would like to keep the cargo doors on the end of the container, we can also fit an additional set of easy to open flat doors. If we have spare cargo doors in our depot, we can also fit this if preferred.
• We would strongly suggest repainting the container as the paint used on the doors may not match the rest of the container.

Personnel Doors:

• Shipping Container Kirncroft Personnel Doors are the more cost-effective and basic option. Our high security personnel doors all have a minimum of 8-point locking systems and are highly resistant to attacks. You can have 2 or more of these fitted if desired.
• There is a huge range of options for our personnel doors. Some examples include; Vision panels, Push bar fire doors, DDA Threshold extra thick, extra wide, and double door options.
• This option is particularly useful for when you need constant access in and out of the container.

Tunnel Containers:

• 20ft Tunnel and 40ft Tunnel containers are shipping containers with double doors at each end. The advantage of this option is being able to access both sides of the container if you have stored items in the way of the other end of the container.
