30ft Shipping Containers (Used)

Product Description

These are the only used 30ft shipping containers in the freight industry at present and are used for the movement of bulk grain and powder and only come into the Newcastle Upon Tyne area. They have a very different door configuration to standard container cargo doors – two ‘shorter’ vertical doors and a single horizontal ‘letterbox opening door’ at the bottom (see product).

Please be aware that 30ft containers are specialist items. In our view, the vast majority of 30fts currently  sold on the Internet are made from cutting down used 40ft containers. So if someone is advertising an ‘original 30ft’ shipping container with doors that don’t look like the ones in our pictures, it is more than likely to be extremely old with a much shorter remaining lifespan. So please take care when shopping around for used 30ft containers as we see a lot of poor quality ones in circulation.

You can of course chose to take the container ‘as is’ with the 3-door configuration. Alternatively, our Newcastle yard offers an ‘L’ shaped door option where they weld one of the vertical doors to the horizontal door and create two opening cargo doors, one being L shaped. This is typically the most popular option for these containers, so chances are if you get a used 30ft from our Newcastle depot this is how it will come unless otherwise specified. As you can see from the pictures, we also paint up the door after the hot work has been done so it matches the rest of the container.

We can also cut the letterbox door in half and weld each half to the bottom of the main doors, giving you a single set of double doors. This costs an additional £200 (aproximately).

All of the standard used 30ft shipping containers are sourced directly from a shipping line or leasing company. We won’t offer you an older container that has been previously purchased as ‘used’ and then (for example) used by a farmer for 5-10 years for storage before being sold back to us without making it clear to you (these pre-used containers would be sold at a discount when available).
