Shipping containers for chemical storage are popular across many industries. We offer made to order hazardous chemical storage containers, to provide a cost-effective storage solution.

While we have a basic standard spec for these chemical stores, they can be customised to suit your project. It is your responsibility to ensure that the spec for the chemical store meets requirements for the substances you are storing.

Chemical stores are also available as 10ft hazardous shipping containers and 20ft hazardous shipping containers so if this one isn’t quite big enough there’s always other options. We can also convert used or refurbished containers if a one trip is not necessary for you.

Flat pack storage containers and chemical stores are also available. Although not as strong as these shipping containers they are beneficial if you’re trying to get a container into a tight area.

Flooring Options

We offer two options for chemical store flooring, depending on your storage requirements. Both options are designed to catch and hold spilt substances. They also come with a lip and drain plug for easy and safe clean up if any liquids spill.

Both options have a small step up into the container from the raised floor / bunded lip.

Chequer Plate Bund

This steel floor replaces the standard plywood floor. It is easy to clean in case of any spillages. A lip is fitted around the base of the container and we create a swill area for excess fluid to sit. A drain plug is also fitted so any spilt substances can be drained out from the container and then the flooring cleaned up.

Raised Mesh Bund

This flooring option works similarly to the chequer plate flooring however a raised mesh grid is fitted above the bund. This means that any spills won’t pool on the floor that you / your team will walk on. This means it is a safe option as people are less likely to slip on pools of liquids (or tread them around the container).

Ventilation

As standard we will fit four 300mm x 300mm louvre vents in an 8ft container. Two will be high level and two at high level. This configuration allows gases with different densities to escape if needed.

We can fit more or less vents if you advise, as well as offering other sized vents.

One Trip Shipping Container

As standard, we converted one trip shipping containers into these chemical stores. These units are as close to new as you can get in the UK and ideal for conversion projects. They look smart and will last a very long time with minimal maintenance.

They also come with a a high security lock box, and by adding one of our Shipping Container padlocks or our insurance rated Squire padlocks, you can be assured of a very secure chemical storage unit.
