Product Description

Made-to-order shipping container staircases for personnel doors. With each customer potentially having a different requirement custom built staircases mean you can have a staircase which works for your needs.

We have a standard option which is designed for two standard height shipping containers or cabins stacked on top of one another. It consists of 13 tread, chequer plate floor and is finished all over in black. It also includes all the handrails and supporting poles.

The shipping container staircases are ideal for stacked welfare units on a construction site or even yards with a number of these units.

These container stairs are designed for personnel use. While they are fantastic quality, heavy duty construction they are still only made for one or two people at a time. If you are likely to be moving heavier items up and down the stairs please let us know. We can customise a staircase with thicker steel, reinforcement, wider steps and landing style loading areas to suit your needs.

Standard Dimensions

The standard height personnel staircase are approx. 2600mm (H) x 1120mm (W) x 4645mm (L). This is generally a 13tread staircase. Circa 450kg for the complete system.
The high cube version is approx. 2900mm (H)  x 1120mm (W) x 4645mm (L). This is a 17tread staircase.

Both heights have a landing platform of 1020mm (W) x 1120mm (D)

Customisation

We can paint them in your choice of RAL colour, ideal for matching the site or your brand colours. Bespoke sizing is also available, so if you need a unit that is wider/ taller we can work to you design.

We can also make these to order with larger width stairs, levelling feet & wheels for manoeuvrability.

Please get in touch if you would have a custom design you would like quoting.

Zinc Powder Coating

We can also offer zinc powder coating on our shipping container staircases. This is a high-performance corrosion protection method. A zinc-rich primer is put onto the metal and then a powder top coat. The zinc will then corrode when exposed to moisture before the steel underneath, and often lasts up to 30 years.

The powder coating is a thick layer that is resistant to chemicals, moisture and is waterproof. It is very durable and is more resistant to wear, such as scratches, chipping and fading.

This powder coating can be done in a range of RAL colours and finishes.

Installation

The stairs are delivered flat pack. The handrails bolt on to the stairs as do the platform supports and platform guard rails (to the landing). Making the item easy to move around site prior to assembly.

Occasionally, there is a fixing plate on the container (under the door sill), so no drilling is necessary. However, if the container doesn’t have this, you will need to drill the recess in the container. It only needs two bolts, the depot will send a selection to cover all different types of container. The bolts are in the parts that bolt together, so you know where they are also supposed to go. We suggest using blind bolts for this.

Some customers choose to weld the staircase directly to the container and therefore do not need drilling or bolts.

As with all things container related it is essential the ground where these will be positioned is suitable. The legs will need support from hard standing ground, ideally concrete.

We can also offer an installation service, please get in touch for the cost.

If you are having your staircase installed by us please keep the work area and container doors clear for our vehicle to gain access. Please do not have the container covered in, surrounded by or full of goods. We will need clear unobstructed access to outside and inside to erect staircases.
