Covid Secure Shipping Container Office Vauxhall
Converted 20ft Shipping Container for DGP Logistics, Southfleet.
In March 2021 we delivered this custom-built Covid secure shipping container office unit made from a 20ft shipping container to a major construction site in Vauxhall London SW8. Our customer, DGP Logistics in Southfleet requested a Covid secure shipping container office/reception space for their own customer’s construction site.
This shipping container office will be used as a site check-in office/reception, we have added additional high-security personnel doors into the design to create an ‘in’ and ‘out’ door system which will help to minimise close contact between personnel, and maximise space for social distancing.
This is a very simple custom-built office but – as with all of our bespoke conversions – we can easily modify or amend the spec to suit each individual client’s requirements. In this instance, the customer wanted adjacent high-security personnel access doors on the long sides of the container. These doors were placed only at one end to create an ‘in and out’ flow for visitors.  This means that one staff member can be safely positioned at the opposite end of the office to sign people in and out – ensuring that social distancing can be maintained for everyone. The customer will furnish the inside of the container office with their own reception desks and screens as necessary.
The shipping container windows create additional airflow which will help to reduce potential Covid transmission in the confined space while also bringing in natural light. As with all of our container modifications, the doors and windows are mounted wherever the customer would like them to be fitted.
We also ply-lined and insulated the container – this is the cheapest way to provide a high-quality insulation performance but we can easily swap ply-boarding for a different paneling material if you prefer something different. We added our basic container electrics pack so that lighting and other electrical equipment can run inside the office container.
The electrical points are mounted according to the customer’s plans, which enables them to pre-plan where any appliances will be placed. If additional ventilation is required we can also add our louvre vents into your design.
