Gilmour Butchers approached us for a 20ft green office container to provide themselves with extra working space. Gilmour Butchers are based in Tranent, near Edinburgh, and provide amazing quality produce, predominantly from Scottish farms.

Office Containers
Gilmour Butchers opted for our basic 20ft Shipping Container Office. Our basic shipping container offices are made using a used shipping container (these are typically 15-20 years old). A personnel door is installed, along with a shuttered window, and is externally repainted to a colour of your choice (the most common choices are green or blue). Internally, the office has some electrics installed and is ply lined and insulated.
This was a very simple custom office container but our office containers can be customised to whatever specs suit your needs. Window and door placements can be designed to meet your requirements. While our basic 20ft office containers come with 1 door and 1 window, additional can be added.
Interior of a Basic Office Container
Electrics are installed to allow lighting and electrical equipment to run through the shipping container. The electrical points are installed to the customers specifications. This allows preplanning of where all electrical appliances are going.
Ply lining the interior gives your shipping container office a very smart and tidy finish inside. The ply lining can be swapped for other materials, if you prefer something different.
The cargo doors of the container can be left operational (super useful if you will be storing larger items in your office). If they aren’t going to be used, we would recommend you have the doors welded shut as it creates a much better internal finish inside.
Container Condition
Basic office containers are typically made from used shipping containers, although these can be upgraded to use one-trip containers if desired. Used containers are around 15+ years old. As they have been used more they do have some imperfections, like dents, scratches, and creases. This office container was made with a used shipping container, and you can see in the photos there are a few visible dents, but with the repaint it is still a very smart-looking unit.
There won’t be any structural damage to the container. They are thoroughly checked in our depots and come with our 12 month wind and watertight guarantee.
Used containers will be repainted either RAL6007 or RAL5013, whichever you prefer. Other colours are available on request at an additional cost.
One trip containers are an excellent choice for your office container if you want it to look good, perhaps if it is something that will be seen by customers, or even just your own personal preference. The paintwork will also be touched up where needed for the office container.
