New 20ft shipping containers have completed just one trip to the UK (full of goods) from China. Once emptied, they are delivered back to our Birmingham depot ready for delivery or conversion.
New/one trip 20ft containers are ideal for use in self-storage depots where looks and longevity are important factors. They are also ideal for use as additional storage for factories and other local businesses in Birmingham.
20ft shipping containers are particularly useful for converting to offices and workshops and even more complex uses like plant rooms.
In our Birmingham depot, we store a range of 20ft shipping containers including the standard DV (8’6), high cube (9’6) and side opening shipping containers. New containers are typically available with a green or blue exterior. They can also be painted in a standard RAL colour of your choice as required at extra cost.
20ft Side Opening Containers in Birmingham
20ft side opening shipping containers are very useful for additional storage purposes. We’ve supplied a number of these to factories and engineering companies in and around Birmingham.
Side opening containers have one full side that can open allowing easy access to the contents throughout the unit. This makes accessing goods really easy using a fork lift or by hand. Typically, side opening containers come with the side opening doors on the right-hand side of the container as seen when looking at the normal cargo doors.
They are very popular as they offer quick and easy access to the items being stored. They are ideal for pallets or items that are large or bulky that wouldn’t fit through the end doors.
20ft High Cube Containers in Birmingham
20ft high cube shipping containers are also popular with customers for storage use. These high cube containers are a foot taller than standard DV containers. They are ideal for oversized items that can’t fit inside a standard height container.
They are also popular for conversion work. These are often chosen for office, kiosk or catering pod units as the HC options offer more headspace and working room.
Shipping Container Conversions in Birmingham
Master Auto Glass also had a container for on-site storage use at their facility in Greet. They had a particular requirement though.
Rather than having a 20ft side opening container, they wanted a container with an extra set of 8ft wide doors in one side. So, we fabricated, fitted and colour matched the newly made doors in to the side of the 20ft container.
Coppice Primary School in Hollywood had a new 20ft shipping container office from us. We fitted it out with insulation and ply-lining, electrics and a personnel door.
Dunlop Aircraft Tyres on the Fort Parkway had a container from us for storage of tooling. Johnson Controls had a 20ft container converted to hold gas bottles securely.
We’ve also produced containers for the Cricket World Cup from our Birmingham depot along with a range of kiosks that have been used at events held at the NEC such as the Shooting Show.
Premium Repaints
The Kings Norton Rhinos also had a 20ft unit for holding sports equipment and Kuka Robotics had a new 20ft side opening shipping container that we had to re-paint white.
The external re-paint on this unit was our ‘premium’ re-painting service. All the decals were removed with the door seals and locking rods all masked off prior to repainting.
For this project, the client also wanted a set of our heavy-duty shipping container skates. This way the unit could be moved in and out of their factory whilst going through complex internal conversions for their client.
Local Industries and Companies
We’ve supplied 20ft shipping containers to a wide range of businesses in Birmingham including scaffolding companies, roofing contractors, driveway contractors, builders, garden centres – such as Wythall Nurseries – and even a pet shop in Kingstanding!
Shipping containers can be used for the storage of tyres, scrap metal etc. When fitted out with our heavy-duty racking, they can be used for the efficient storage of archives, small parts, materials. With our pipe racking, they can be used by engineering companies to hold tubing and by plumbers for storing pipes, guttering, down pipes etc.
