20ft Side Door Shipping Container (Refurbished)

Product Description

These 20ft side door shipping containers are specially modified from a 20ft refurbished shipping container with sheet steel doors welded onto the side. This provides an easy access point to the cargo in addition to the traditional end opening cargo doors and can fit a lot of specific yard setups. The doors on the side of the container are customised and include a steel rod to make the doors very secure. Guaranteed to be wind and watertight and is ready for general site use.

These 20ft side door shipping containers offer easy clear access from the side of the container and can often save circa £1000 over a new full side access container.

Our yard will quite frequently swap door types depending on availability of stock, the commodity price at the time and availability of spare doors. (for example – if we’ve just had a project to supply 20 shipping containers with roller shutter doors in, chances are we will then have 20 sets of spare original container doors in our yard we would want to use up!) If you require a specific type of door, please let us know and we can try and source this for you (Possibly at an additional cost).

All of our refurbished containers will come with a lock box (padlock housing) included on the cargo door end of the container, but if you require an additional lock box on the side doors we can fit a high security lock box (padlock housing at additional charge) in all of our depots. We can also supply you with an insurance rated Squire padlock

We can modify any of our containers to incorporate a side door or other conversion options are available.

All of our 20ft side door shipping containers will be structurally sound and are all built from corten (COR-TEN A grade) steel – an anti-rust alloy of steel. When rust does form on corten steel it is non-porous (it won’t let water through the rust) meaning the metal underneath the surface rust is protected, which in turn means that these containers will last an extremely long time.

These 20ft side door shipping containers are usually made to order in one of our major depot locations with a typical 2 week lead time. As we have modified the structure it is not suitable for export shipping but it is still fine to load with heavy weight when sat on your site to be used for storage use.

As we make these containers up to order we can commonly fit these side doors into either side and we can either blank off the original end doors or keep them in place as needed. We can also mount the doors almost anywhere along the long side as might be needed to fit your operation.

Please note whilst we have tried to be as accurate as possible, some measurements (notably internal measurements) can vary slightly with the development and modernisation of manufacturing techniques over time. We recommend considering a circa 1 inch (2.5cm) tolerance. Where possible we have given a range on known variations in dims between ranges but we can’t guarantee this to be totally accurate for all ranges. If you have a specific sized problem or item to load that’s near these dims please double check with us in advance and if needs be we will get someone to measure the exact container for you.
