30ft Refurbished Container with Side Doors for Ride United Adapted Cycling Club

30ft with side doorsIn early 2025, we delivered a 30ft container with side access doors to Ride United Adapted Cycling Club, at Lynnsport in Norfolk. They are part of the charity, The Adapted Sports Hub Trust. At Ride United, they believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of cycling! The club provides a safe, friendly space for people of all ages, abilities and disabilities.

They needed some extra storage space, and this specific size to due space restrictions on site. They opted for the flat panel doors in the side, for easier access into the container.

This was a custom built container, for the customer’s requirements. We supplied a refurbished container, with the modifications of flat panel doors in the side, and the end doors sealed off.

Refurbished containers are often used for conversion projects. A refurbished container is a used container underneath; which we give a fresh repaint to, and add a high security lock-box.

A refurbished container is a very good option when you want the cosmetics to be nicer than a used container, but more budget-friendly than a one trip container.

Flat Panel Side Doors

Flat panel doors can be a great alternative to a full side access shipping container. They are a lot more cost-effective too if you don’t need the full side access.

Flat panel doors are usually fitted when either adding additional doors (like in this case), or when a container has been cut down. The flat panel doors will come with a lock box fitted and a locking bar on the right-hand door.

If you are thinking of purchasing a container, and are unsure on whether to go for cargo doors or flat doors; please see our article here to help you decide: Cargo Doors Vs Flat Panel Doors on Shipping Containers

Sealed Up End Doors

30ft with side doorsOur customer could only access the side of the container. As a result, there was no point in having the end doors operational!

As this was already a cut-down container, we used the end without the cargo doors & added a new steel panel to the open end.

Some customers choose to seal end doors when adding side doors. This adds a bit of extra security – one less place people can break in. Alternatively, you can choose to keep the end doors for another access point.

Cut-Down Containers

A cut-down container is a non-standard size container. Take for example, this customer’s 30ft container. This was cut-down from a used 40ft container.

A cut-down container does not keep the corner castings (as pictured). If you need the corner castings, we can do a cut & shut where we cut out the middle section and re-weld the corner castings back to this section.

With these custom length containers, you can’t loaded lift or ship them as they are no longer ISO standard.
